长期从事应急管理、社会安全风险智能计算、人工智能、校园安全、大型活动安全等方面的研究。目前，以一作或通讯作者在Safety Science和Expert Systems with Applications等国际高水平SCI/SSCI期刊发表论文45篇，其中包括中科院TOP期刊5篇。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家重点研发项目课题等国家级项目3项，主持省部级项目5项。曾获国家十三五规划建言献策一等奖、北京市本科优秀论文指导教师，公安大学科研名师等奖励。作为主要参与人撰写的多篇研究报告获得中央领导、省部级领导肯定性批示。
